Scottsbluff wastewater treatment facility honored
During the 2012 Joint Fall Conference of the American Public Works Association, Nebraska Water Environment Association, and the American Water Works Association in Kearney last week, Scottsbluff's wastewater treatment facility was presented the 2012 Scott Wilber Award.
This is the tenth consecutive year the City of Scottsbluff has been honored with the award. This award is presented by the Nebraska Water Environment Association for outstanding operantion and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility in the interest of water pollution control.
The wastewater department also received a Bronze Safety Award for excellence in accident prevention and a safety program that includes training, materials, and the participation of all employees. Since returning control to the City of Scottsbluff after private contract operations in April of 2002, the department has not experienced a lost time injury.
