Scottsbluff conducts firefighter testing
Testing is taking place today (Friday) on the south end of the Harms Center for an open firefighter position with the Scottsbluff Fire Department. Fire Chief Dana Miller says 23 people from several states, including Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas and Michigan, were invited to the testing. 16 people had showed up early this morning.
Miller says the applicants will need to pass a written exam before moving on to other testing involving their ability to climb a fire ladder, agility time tests, and an interview with three members of the city's Civil Service Commission and Miller.
Miller says the commission will certify those who passed and then submit three names for Miller and City Manager Rick Kuckkahn to choose from to fill the position.
