Free dental care to be offered panhandle children
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Faculty and staff from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry are offering free dental care to children in the Panhandle on Friday and Saturday.
More than 200 children are expected at the Children's Dental Day event, which will take place in Sidney, Chadron and Gordon. The medical professionals will offer cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, cavity fillings, extractions and emergency care if needed.
The combined services will cost an estimated $100,000. This is the 22nd dental event since the college started holding them in 2001.
The Chadron event will take place at the Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska Dental Clinic. Gordon's is located at the Gordon Community Hospital. In Sidney, children can visit Summit Dental Group and LifeSmiles of Sidney.
