Gering city engineer Paul Snarr is one of two finalists for the public works director/city engineer position in Grand Island. The Grand Island Independent says Snarr and John Collins of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who left the vacant position last summer, will be interviewed in Grand Island Monday and also receive tours of the city.

Snarr, who has been the Gering city engineer since March of last year, has 30 years of engineering experience in the fields of city and county public works divisions and the Idaho Department of Transportation.

Collins, who has 25 years experience in various engineering and management positions while employed with the Louisiana Department of Transportation, served as Grand Island's Public Works Director for 16 months before resigning in July of last year.
