Search warrant leads to burglary arrest
A 29 year old Gering woman is facing burglary and drug charges after a warrant was executed at a residence in the Bellevue addition Wednesday.
According to Scottsbluff Police, numerous items, including a quantity of new and used power tools were stolen during a May 8th burglary at Kindvall Siding and Construction of Scottsbluff. Through their investigation, suspects were identified leading to the execution of the warrant and the arrest of Kayla McBride, who has been charged with burglary, possession of burglar tools, and possession of methamphetamine. Searching the home, evidence was found reportedly linking McBride to the burglary.
While executing that warrant, officers also located and arrested 38 year old Cornello Rendon of Gering, who was wanted on a Scotts Bluff County warrant for driving under suspension, operating a vehicle to avoid arrest and false reporting.
After first appearances in Scotts Bluff County Court Friday, McBride's bond was set at $45,000 with a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 23rd. Rendon had bond set at $100,000 with a pre-trial conference set for June 25th.
The Nebraska State Patrol and the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office assited with the execution of the warrant.
