21st Century Equipment recommended purchaser for ALS Steel Building
The city of Scottsbluff's L.B. 840 committee has recommended the city council approve a purchase offer from 21st Century Equipment for the steel building on the former Aurora Loan Services property. Both 21st Century Equipment and Ron Bright submitted sealed bids of slightly over the minimum $400,000 for the property.
According to documents from Assistant City Manager Nathan Johnson, the committee determined the 21st Century Equipment offer was "most closely aligned with the wages and benefits needed" to be awarded the property. Just this past week 21st Century Equipment closed on the $100,000 purchase of the office building on the property, which will be used as the corporate and administrative headquarters for the company when renovations are completed later this summer.
The council had kept secret the proposed uses by the two bidders and will consider the L.B. 840 Committee's recommendation at Monday night's meeting.
