On top of searching for a new high school principal and a variety of teaching positions, the Alliance Public Schools are also searching for a new high school head wrestling coach, a new high school head volleyball coach and a new middle school football and boys basketball coach and middle school activities administrator, as coaches Travis Peak, Hope Gillaspy, and Ed Sughroue have announced their resignations effective at the end of the school year.

Superintendent of Schools Troy Unzicker says he believes those positions will be filled sometime in May. Unzicker says he knows everyone is anxious to hear who those people are. But, he says they will look at all of their open educational positions and get applications in so they are able to have a wide pool. Then they can look at coaching endorsements and teaching experiences and backgrounds of everybody before they fill those positions.

Peak is moving to Wyoming, Sughroue will relocate to Hastings, and Gillaspy is expecting a child. Unzicker says the process has also began to find a successor to high school principal Dr. Pat Jones, who resigned last month.
