Local tourism officials excited about state's sponsorship at the National Western
Local tourism officials are getting ready for a big push at next month's National Western Stock Show in Denver, where the Nebraska Tourism Commission for the second year in a row has made a major investment.
Karla Niedan-Streeks, Director of the Gering Convention and Visitor's Bureau, says the Tourism Commission's participation as a major sponsor of the National Western is a great boost for western Nebraska. Niedan-Streeks says the Nebraska Tourism Commission will have a strong presence on light rail in the Denver Metro area, on the radio and other media along the front range.
Scotts Bluff County Tourism Director Brenda Leisy says the state will use the county's booth from last year's State Fair, plus other items in a double booth located this year on the first floor of the exhibit hall to promote western Nebraska and Nebraska as a whole. The Tourism Commission will also have a 30 second television ad running along the front range with beautiful aerial photography that features the region's topography, landmarks, and people.
