Wendy was born June 10, 1941 in Livingston, Montana to Arthur and Eva (Johnson) Farrar. She received her education in Livingston and Rushville, Nebraska. Wendy graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1959. She attended Regional West School of Nursing graduating in 1963 and received one of the highest test scores ever for the State Board of Nursing. Wendy immediately went to work for Regional West Medical Center where she was employed for 35 years. She worked her way up and was eventually appointed Head of Home Health. Wendy's medical knowledge was priceless.
Wendy married Ron Asmus on August 2, 1961 in Gering. She and Ron have three children. Wendy and Ron were married 53 years and in the old days you never saw Wendy without Ron at her side. They were always together. Health issues in the last few years changed that though. Wendy and Ron loved their kids and attending their baseball games, band concerts and musicals. They also enjoyed going to Lake Minatare camping and waterskiing and traveling with the kids.
Previously, Wendy was on a league golf team at the Scottsbluff Country Club. She was a hacker like Ron, but she enjoyed the game and her friends. Wendy was also a talented artist. Her drawings were excellent. She especially loved her cats and was always with them.
Survivors include her husband, Ron of Scottsbluff; son, James Asmus of Scottsbluff; daughters, Karoline Birt of Bellevue, Nebraska and Jennifer (Richard) Castro of Gering; sisters, Lorilee (Skip) Morson of North Dakota and Jennifer (Bob) Bailey of Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Bailey Birt, Andrew Castro and Benjeman Castro.
Preceding Wendy in death were her parents.
