Alliance legislative forum planned

Three candidates for the Nebraska Legislature will participate in a forum on Monday, October 8 at 1:00 pm in the Alliance High School Performing Arts Center.

Legislative District 43 candidates Al Davis and John Ravenscroft and LD 47 candidate Ken Schilz will answer questions about Nebraska issues our government will be facing in the next few years.

Davis of Hyannis and Ravenscroft of Nenzel emerged from a field of seven candidates in the May Primary election to advance to the November general election. After the 2011 legislative redistricting, Alliance and eastern Box Butte County were transferred into LD 43, which includes the Nebraska Sandhills, 22% of the area of the state of Nebraska.

Senator Ken Schilz of Ogallala currently serves LD 47, which includes Hemingford and western Box Butte County. Schilz is running unopposed for reelection.
