2 Scottsbluff Police Chief finalists named

After reducing a pool of seven candidates to three, two finalists have been identified for the Scottsbluff Police Chief position. City Attorney Howard Olsen says after being advised that their names would be made public, one of the three has chosen to withdraw, leaving two finalists.

The finalists are Adam Creek, currently employed as a Criminal Investigator in the Crimes Against Persons Unit of the Fort Smith, Arkansas Police Department. Creek has 12 years of experience in law enforcement, with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and an Associate's Degree in Business Administration.

The other finalist is current Scottsbluff Police Captain Kevin Spencer, who has nearly 22 years of law enforcement experience. Spencer has extensive training in a number of areas, and most recently received a certificate in Criminal Justice Education from the University of Virginia while attending the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia in 2011. Spencer has shared duties with Captain Brian Wasson, serving a term as Interim Chief following the resignation of Alex Moreno last summer.

Olsen says given the fact the names and resumes have been released, the testing and interviews of the finalists will move forward, and are expected to be done in public.
