29 organizations in Museum tree decorating contest
The ninth annual Christmas tree decorating contest at the North Platte Valley Museum is bigger than ever this year, with 29 organizations represented in the decorated trees.
The festive event is a fundraiser for the museum and participating nonprofit organizations and service clubs, as well as an opportunity for the organizations to showcase themselves.
Voting in the contest continues through Dec. 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tues.-Fri. and 1 to 4 p.m. Sat.-Sun. Admission to the museum is free during the contest. Museum visitors may cast vote tickets for their favorite trees or favorite causes. Each vote costs $1. The proceeds of each vote are split between the museum and the organization.
