Congressional debate to be held in Scottsbluff Friday evening

The lone panhandle Congressional debate between Colonel Tom Brewer and incumbent Congressman Adrian Smith will be held this evening between 5:30 and 6:30 P.m. at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center auditorium

Candidates will receive questions from KNEB's Kevin Mooney, the Star Herald's Steve Frederick and long-time KDUH anchor Jerry DeShong. KNEB's Bill Boyer will moderate

Those planning to attend must enter through side door in the front as parking lot in back is under construction.

The Chamber has also announced they will have a candidate forum on Wednesday April 30th featuring the Republican candidates for the two Scotts Bluff County Commission seats and County Treasurer. The two candidates for the non partisan 49th District State legislative seat, John Stinner and Mike Meister, will also face off that evening.

The forum will be held in the Scotts Bluff County Commission chambers in Gering.

The two Treasurer candidates will be featured from 5:30 to 6 P.m., the Commission candidates from 6:15 to 7 p.m. and the legislative candidates from 7:15 to 8 p.m. The Chamber says County Commission Candidate Kirk Arnold will not be able to attend. You can view it on a link at
