Marion Elaine Zier, 80, of rural Bayard, departed this earthly life and went to the arms of her Lord and Savior, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff surrounded by her loving family. Her funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Hope Congregational Church in Bayard with Pastor Ted Meter officiating. Interment will follow at the Bayard Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Marion's honor be made in care of the family to be designated at a later time.

Marion was born on November 22, 1933 to Jacob and Lillian (Green) Rohrick in Scottsbluff. She married the love of her life, Kenneth E. Zier on Nov. 15, 1953 in Scottsbluff and they eventually made their home on the family farm in Bayard.

Marion was an amazingly accomplished artist for many years painting breath taking china pieces and porcelain dolls. She was a member of the World Organization of China Painters. She loved reading her bible and praising her Lord daily. Her passion in life, however, was her love of cooking. Nothing made Marion happier than to have her kitchen table surrounded by her family eating her delicious meals. Marion welcomed everyone to her table with open arms whether it was family, friend or stranger.

Marion devoted her life to loving each and every one of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and especially her husband Kenneth. She has touched each of our hearts and will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all of us.

Marion is survived by her husband Kenneth Zier of Bayard; little sister Gretchen (Larry) Hartman of Deming, NM; daughters Jeanette (Greg) Kniss of Scottsbluff, NE and Cindy Hagstrom of Bozeman, MT; sons Mike (Holly) Zier and Jeff Zier of Bayard; grandchildren Andrea (Brian) Keith, Scott (Heather) Kniss, Jessica (Jeramie) Sumner, Daniel and Charlie Hagstrom, Cassandra (Chris) Furrow, Nikki (Logan) LeDroit, Allen and Jacob Zier, and Kayla Biernacki; great grandchildren Isaac and Lily Keith, Jayden, Jocelyn, Joshua and Jenasis Sumner, Gibson and Gideon Kniss, Kaine Hagstrom and Rylen Thompson.

Her parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
