Laramie Peak fire now 75% contained
The Arapaho Fire near Laramie Peak is now 75% contained. The fire is over 98,000 acres and there are over 860 people working on the fire. With cooler weather from the past three days and continuing today, fire activity will remain moderate, although there is still potential for the fire to spread.
Over the weekend, rain allowed firefighters there to
attack parts of the fire that were previously inaccessible.
Heavy timber areas will continue to hold isolated pockets of heat that with a breeze could move the fire to some unburned areas. The Laramie Peak Boy Scout camp has been evacuated and closed, but no structures have been burned due to the fire.
