Minatare man charged with violating teenage girl

A 60 year old Minatare man arrested for sexually assaulting a teenage girl and possessing nude photographs of the teen on his cell phone had his first appearance in Scotts Bluff County Court Monday afternoon.

Court documents say a confidential informant told a Nebraska State patrol investigator that he had borrowed David Nielsen's cell phone to text when he observed a nude photo of the 16 year old girl in pictures on the suspect's phone. Further investigation indicated Nielsen had four nude images of the girl on his phone.

The court documents say Nielsen told investigators he has been having sex with the girl, now 16, since she was 13 or 14 years old. The victim says they last time they had sexual relations was in July of 2011. The incidents allegedly took place at the victim's residence.

Nielsen is charged with four counts of possessing child pornography and one count of sexual assault of a child. He will have a preliminary hearing on July 27th at 2 p.m. Bond has been set at $750,000 with a 10% cash provision.
