Scotts Bluff County Tourism awards grants

Scotts Bluff County tourism has awarded grant funds for two local events. $6,000 was provided for the annual Father's Day Rock and Roll Classic Car show. The event hosted by the Gering Civic center, is in its 14th year. Activities include a barbecue, ice cream social, a parade of cars and a show and shine car show.

The Scotts Bluff Valley Fiber Arts Fair has been awarded just over $5,000 for their September 14th and 15th event scheduled at the Monument Mall and the Harms Technology Center. The fair provides workshops for knitting, weaving, crocheting, embroidery, dyeing and much more. it also gives vendors a chance to sell their creations. The event draws between 1,000 and 3,000 visitors.
