Safe removed in burglary at Cottonwood Country Club

Torrington Police are investigating a burglary of the Cottonwood Country Club building where a 200 pound safe was removed with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police Chief Billy Janes says the break-in was reported Monday morning, but there was no indication of any forced entry into the building overnight Sunday. Janes says the safe likely contained cash, checks, and other proceeds from the weekend.

Janes says Police believe it is a separate incident since there have been no other major commercial burglaries recently. Janes says they are following up on leads. Anyone with information should call Torrington Police at (307) 532-7001.
