Jury returns split verdict on two drug charges
In a two day trial, a Scotts Bluff County District Court jury Tuesday found one of nine people arrested on various drug charges in October 2012 guilty on one count of distribution of methamphetamine and not guilty on a second count of the same charge.
29 year old Brooke Schaneman was arrested last October after a five-month long investigation into illegal drug activity by the WING Drug Task Force with assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol, Scottsbluff and Gering Police Departments, and the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office.
Also charged in that investigation were 28-year-old Brittany Flores of Scottsbluff, 23 year old Johnny Horn of Bayard, 47-year-old Telesforo Alvarado of Gering, 28-year-old Amanda LeMay of Gering, and 35-year-old James Johnson, 50-year-old Mark Beecher, and 40-year-old Lorinda Urbaetis, all of Scottsbluff .
Schaneman will be sentenced on April 29th at 9 a.m.
