UNiversity of Nebraska probes security breach
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ The University of Nebraska is investigating a security breach into an electronic database that holds students records for its four campuses.
The university says the breach into the Nebraska Student Information System was discovered Wednesday night. The system contains Social Security numbers, addresses, grades, transcripts and other information for current and former students, applicants and alumni dating to spring 1985.
The university says there's no evidence that any information was taken during the breach, which was discovered by the computer technicians and quickly
stopped.
Students, alumni and staff were notified Friday night.
