Gerald Edwin Welsh, 75, of Mitchell, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013, at his home.
His memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Ed Hunzeker officiating. The family requests that you wear casual attire in honor of Gerald. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. Inurnment will be in Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park.

Gerald was born May 12, 1938, in Scottsbluff to Lester and Esther (Dedlow) Welsh. Gerald graduated from Melbeta High School in 1956 and married Roberta Meter on September 9, 1956. They were married for 27 years. Gerald married Janice Hunter on October 28, 1987.
Gerald worked for Swift & Company for over 20 years until the plant closed. He worked for Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff for over 30 years until his retirement. He worked part time for Century 21 and for over 35 years as an auctioneer/agent.
He is survived by his children, Diane Welsh of The Woodlands, Texas, Jerry (Karen) Welsh of Houston, Texas, Rick (Tammie) Welsh of Gering, and Judie (John) Sauer of Ogallala; stepchildren, Jennifer Jackson of Melbeta, J.D. "Cody" Molle of Laramie, Wyoming, and Clayton Molle of Mission Viejo, California; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, James (Ann) Welsh of Milwaukie, Oregon; sisters, Jane Welsh of Gering, and Jene Wood of Gering; mother-in-law, Mabel Hunter of Sloan, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Esther Welsh; wife, Janice; and father-in-law, Kendall Hunter.
