James "Jim" Krantz, 87, Alliance
A much loved husband, father and grandfather, James (Jim) Krantz, age 87, of Alliance, Ne, died peacefully Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
There will be a wake Sunday, March 10, at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Alliance. Memorial Mass will be held Monday, March 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Alliance. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Alliance with military honors. He was born September 1, 1925 in Waterloo, Iowa. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II in the South Pacific. He retired after 42 years with BNSF. As his children were growing, he spent many years as the President of the 4-H Milky Way Dairy Club. He also served many years on the supervisory committee of the Railroad Credit Union.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Edna (Edie) Nelson Krantz and his children: Charles Krantz of Alliance, Teri and Tim O'Hearn of Tacoma, WA, Bobbi and Cliff Robinson of Torrington, WY and Jan and Ernie Carlson of Alliance; 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of love. He was a constant of warmth, strength, guidance and patience to his family, extended family and friends. He will be forever remembered and greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings, one grandchild, one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law.
