Scottsbluff teen injured in rollover
A 17 year old Scottsbluff girl was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon following a one vehicle rollover accident, approximately 1/2 mile north of County Road H on County Road 22. The accident was reported just after 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office, Megan Scheer was driving a 2002 Ford Focus northbound on County Road 22 when she lost control, crossed the roadway, and rolled into the east ditch. Scheer suffered what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries in the accident, and was transported to Regional West Medical Center by Valley Ambulance. Tyler Golden, a 19 year old passenger in the vehicle was not injured.
Both occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. The Sheriff's Office says there is no suspicion that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident. However, there is evidence of excessive speed and Scheer was cited for careless driving.
