John Michael Montgomery ready to perform Valentines Day concerts
Platinum-selling country music artist John Michael Montgomery is anxious to spend a couple of days in Scottsbluff with his two performances at the historic Midwest Theater. Friday night's concerts is sold out and Thursday night's performance is virtually sold out.
Both start at 8 p.m.
Montgomery told KNEB News he has cut his road schedule back to about 70 days per year, but can't resist the chance to come spend Valentine's Day here. Montgomery says that allows him time to be home alot and spend time on the road. He says being the father of teenage kids now, spending time at home is important, but says he has entertainer blood and is anxious for his two concerts here. With more than 30 country music hits between 1992 and 2009 and eleven studio albums, Montgomery sells out arenas. But now, he tells KNEB he will perform an acoustic show "up close and personal" at the Midwest Theater.
And to make the event even more memorable, Steve Thrasher, of Thrasher Music, has donated two new Cort guitars, to be autographed by John Michael Montgomery and auctioned off, one at each concert.
Executive Director Billy Estes says, "We are super excited to work with Steve on this; his generous donation to the Midwest Theater will help raise funds for our student performing arts education programming. This is a great opportunity for our community to own a little piece of history from the Midwest Theater and John Michael Montgomery. Helberg & Nuss is donating their auctioneering services.
