Lyman man arrested on weapons charges

A Lyman man has been arrested for two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm after his brother notified authorities the man's safety was in jeopardy because he had weapons in his house. 48 year old David Fitzgerald was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Highway 92 shortly before his home was searched by Wing Drug Task Force investigators and members of the Scotts Bluff County Swat Team.

Court documents say Fitzgerald's brother Ken had retrieved two revolvers and ammunition prior to the search by officers During the search investigators found marijuana, syringes, paraphernalia and ammunition. The document says Fitzgerald had a history of random shootings, including two incidents in the early to mid 90's, one of them in Henry and the other at the Eastwood apartments in Scottsbluff.
