UW in no rush to hire new President
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) _ It took only seven days to hire to a new football coach at the University of Wyoming, but there's no such rush to hire a new president for the state's only public, four-year college.
UW officials have said little about when a search will commence to find a replacement for former President Bob Sternberg, who resigned after less than five months on the job late last year.
UW Trustees President Dave Bostrom said the university's silence on a presidential search has nothing to do with priorities.
He tells the Casper Star-Tribune that the nature of college athletics requires quickly finding a new head football coach.
Dick McGinity is serving as UW's interim president.
The board of trustee will discuss the presidency at its Jan. 16 meeting.
