Bluffs council to discuss single stream recycling

The Scottsttsbluff city council will meet this evening and discuss what to charge for fees for the new pilot single stream recycling program. Scottsbluff has 200 containers that will be used for the pilot program, which the city has indicated it hopes to begin after the first of the year. The program would be conducted in conjunction with a similar program Gering has already been operating with Waste Management officials in Denver.

The council will also discuss contract requirements for agencies receiving funding from the city of Scottsbluff. The council will also talk about possible funding sources for the Monument Prevention Coalition,, formerly Project Extra Mile. The meeting begins at 6 p.m.
