Registrations still being taken for Cancer Survivor's Day

All area cancer survivors and their support persons are encouraged to attend the event. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 308.630.1541 by Monday, April 8. There is no cost to attend the event and refreshments will be served.
Cancer Survivors' Day is an annual event where cancer survivors, their families, physicians, and other members of the oncology health care team gather to applaud cancer survivors and their personal victories. A cancer survivor is anyone who is living with a history of cancer and includes newly diagnosed as well as long-term survivors. An estimated 10.8 million Americans are now living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis, including over 4,200 cancer survivors in the Nebraska panhandle.
This year's theme is "All That Glitters." Author and cancer survivor Brad Moore will be the day's keynote speaker. Brad paints a vivid picture of what it's like to be a teenager and face three different cancer malignancies over a three-year span. By telling his story, he hopes to inspire others who are struggling with cancer or other tough times. Raised in Rushville, Neb., Brad attended Chadron State College and currently owns a DJ business in Chadron. He also works for a local radio station, reporting high school and college football games.
