Scotts Bluff County gravel roads considered "hazardous
The Scotts Bluff County Roads Department says driving conditions on the county's gravel system should be considered "hazardous due to the dry conditions that persist. Roads Director Bob Bennett says areas of "break-up" and "loss of crust" are numerous, widespread and beyond the capability to repair until sufficient rainfall is received.
Motorists can also expect to experience washboard conditions and the roads department is advising motorists to adjust speeds to no more than 40 miles per hour. Bennett says they will continue to repair and maintain high traffic gravel roads but until conditions change "all due caution should be exercised."
