PVC Honored by USDA Rural Development
USDA Rural Development today honored Platte Valley Bank as the number two lender in the state in fiscal year 2012 for the agency's Guaranteed Rural Housing Loan program. Platte Valley Bank provided more than $9.5 million dollars for 99 home loans through the 100% guaranteed loan program provided to eligible income households.
State Director Maxine Moul says Platte Valley Bank was not the only local bank providing loans, as she emphasized Scotts Bluff County was the third most active county in the state for the rural loans.
Moul said it was a banner year for the USDA Rural Development in Nebraska despite cutbacks. Over $250 million in loans have been made in Nebraska for housing, small business expansion and creation and to provide needed infrastructure, including funding for planned hospital expansions in Alliance and Sidney.
Moul says demand for the homeowners program continues to be strong in fiscal year 2013.
