Tattoos lead to arrest of Paradise Car Wash burglary suspect

Police used distinctive tattoos seen in surveillance camera footage to arrest one of the men suspected in the July 1st burglary at the Paradise Car Wash. 20 year old Zachary Ensrud is charged with burglary and criminal mischief and is being held on $25,000 bond after making his first appearance in Scotts Bluff County Court.

A court document filed by Scottsbluff Police investigator Joe Rohrer indicates Police received a phone call identifying Ensrud as one of the suspects and also providing information that he had been recently arrested in Laramie.

The court document says Rohher was able to positively compare the tattoos seen on the arm and wrist of one of the suspects in the surveillance footage to the description of tattoos listed on Ensrud's Albany County booking sheet. Rohrer also talked to the Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper who arrested Ensrud and was able to send him still images of the surveillance footage. The trooper positively identified the tattooed suspect as Ensrud.

The court document says the two men entered the building through a hatch on the roof, and damaged a couple doors , but only got away with an estimated $30 in coins before they left.

The other suspect is still on the loose and Police encourage the public to call the Scottsbluff Police Department at (308) 632-7176 or call Scotts Bluff County Crimestoppers at (308) 632-STOP (7867) with any information that could lead to an arrest.
