Delores Mae Vogel

Delores Mae Vogel, 78, of Bayard, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Bayard with Pastor George Naylor officiating. Interment will be at the Bayard Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 5pm until 8pm at the church on Friday. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Delores's memory be made in care of the church and the Lutheran Women Missionary League. Online condolences may be left at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff is in charge of arrangements.

Delores was born May 20, 1935 in Scottsbluff, NE to Conrad and Katherine (Schaneman) Schledewitz. She received her education and graduated from Mitchell High School. She married Delbert Vogel on November 20, 1955 in Scottsbluff. She worked at the extension office for 2 years after high school, then part time at Great Western Sugar in 1967, then started full time in 1985 until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Bayard, she was active in the church and Lutheran Women Missionary League, and held many offices in the church and at the District and Zone levels and was also active in the American Legion Auxiliary.

Delores loved the Lord with all her heart and witnessed that to her family and friends and instilled that in her children. Delores enjoyed scrapbooking, playing cards, singing and choirs, cooking and baking for her family and friends and sewing. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grand children, and tracking them on Facebook! She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her and missed with a heavy heart by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband Delbert Vogel of Bayard; children Kendall (Donna) Vogel of Scottsbluff, Kevin (Becky) Vogel of Houston, TX, Kenneth (Laurie) Vogel of Highlands Ranch, CO, Pamela (Terry) Bentley of Lincoln, NE, and Kurt (Barbara) Vogel of Gering; grand children Jennifer, Justin, Nicholas, Sean, Corrine, Katie, Trevor, Taylor, Chad, Kendra, Alecia, Nathan, Ryan, Aaron, Christen, Jasmyn, and Dakota; great grandchildren Kylee, Danica, Logan, Madison, Zadyn and Bryson; siblings Robert (Sharon) Schledewitz, Shirley Huck, Richard Schledewitz and Diana (James) Lashley; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

Her parents Conrad and Katherine Schledewitz, sister in law Cheryl Schledewitz and brother in law Richard Huck preceded her in death.
