Hague: Cash flow issues forcing use of cash reserve
Gering Superintemdent Don Hague says the district has had some cash flow issues and has had to dip into cash reserve.
Hague says its is the first year the district has had to that, and they are looking closely closely at expenditures and places to cut, including staffing for next year, especially in areas where retirements are likely occurring.
Hague says the cash flow issues are due to a state education formula that is not fully funded and the timing of the state funds that are received. Hague says delays in citizens paying property taxes can also cause some issues.
