18th Street Farmers Market to open early
The 18th Street Farmers' Market (formally the Downtown Scottsbluff Farmers' Market) will hold its first market of the season Saturday, June 8th, a month earlier than in previous years. The market's manager Kathi Manville says the earlier start is being done at the suggestion of existing vendors who attended a planning meeting last week.
The market is accepting applications for vendors with homemade or homemade products and is looking for individuals or groups who would like to participate in special activities. Musicians are also being sought to play during the market. A special vendor rate has been established for any non-profit group that would like to participate in the market either promoting their group or doing a fund raiser at the market.
A "children's market" will also be held the first Saturday of the month with a bounce house, face painting and other activities that will appeal to children.
The market, located on 18th Street between Broadway and 1st Avenue in Downtown Scottsbluff, is open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. For more info, contact Manville at (307) 214-5641.
