Gering memorial established for mass shooting victims
A Gering couple has established a memorial for the victims of the mass shooting in Connecticut. Jody and Dave Radomski late Sunday put up 27 white, wooden crosses in their front yard to represent the children and adults lost in the shooting at Sandy Hook elementary school. Radomski said she wanted the people of Newport, Connecticut to know there are others in the country grieving with them.
Radomski says the girl's crosses have pink bows on them, the boy's crosses have blue bows on them and the adult crosses have red ribbons. The memorial is at 1245 N Street across from Legion Park.
Ramdomski says residents have begun to put stuffed animals and other items near the crosses and she plans to send anything collected back to Newtown, Connecticut to help the surviving children at the school and the parents who lost loved ones. She says the memorial will be up through the New Year .
