Charges filed against accomplices in Sidney murder
A Sidney man and his ex-girlfriend have been charged with assisting the suspect in a drug-related murder early Saturday morning. .
Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub says 35 year old Billy Fields has been charged with being an accessory to a felony for allegedly helping 33 year old Jason Custer leave Sidney.
Authorities say Fields assisted Custer after the suspect told Fields he was responsible for the fatal shooting of 36 year old Adam McCormick, who died at a Sidney hospital. Custer was arrested at a Big Springs motel Saturday morning.
Authorities say the shooting occurred when the two men were arguing over $160 in drug money.
Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub says 38-year-old Amber Davis, Fields' ex-girlfriend has been charged obstruction and false reporting for allegedly lying to investigators after the shooting. Davis will make her initial court appearance December 10.
Custer is scheduled to make his first court appearance November 15 on charges of Second degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony.
