Scottsbluff Council approves Karsten L.L.C. agreement
After receiving a positive recommendation from the Application Review Commission, the Scottsbluff City Council Monday night approved the assumption of the $100,000 owed to the city on an L.B. 840 grant by an Oregon firm that will be doing business as Karsten Homes L.L.C. Karsten has purchased troubled Gering home manufacturer Magnolia Homes.
Magnolia employees were laid off earlier this year. The firm has hired back many of the laid off employees in addition to new hires, and plans to work on getting back orders filled. City Manager Rick Kuckkahn had said earlier the company was eager to get underway.
The agreement the Council approved Monday night will allow the newly established division of the Oregon company to begin operations as Karsten Gering, L.L.C.
