Scottsbluff discontinuing Memorial Tree Program at Centennial Park
The City of Scottsbluff is discontinuing the memorial tree program for Centennial Park. Parks and Recreations Director Perry Mader says according to the park plan, the amount of spaces for trees has been maximized.
The City will continue to replace trees in the park when necessary.
Also, the metal donor stakes at the base of each tree will be removed for the safety of park users. Damage and vandalism were also contributing factors in the decision to remove these items. Names of each tree donor will remain on the donor wall in the park.
The City will continue to encourage people to plant memorial trees in other City Parks.
The Parks and Recreation Department will start the process of identifying areas available for memorial trees. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 632-0057 for more details.
