Two arrested on drug charges
The Star Herald is reporting this morning that two people have been arrested on drug charges after one of them retrieved an envelope with LSD in it from a Gering post office box. 22 year old Andrew Vanderveen is charged with four counts of delivery of a controlled substance while his girlfriend 20 year old Sarah Trook is charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance and being an accessory to distribution of a controlled substance.
A court document says authorities conducted surveillance of the post office when they were notified by postal officials and Homeland Security that theyt intended to conduct a controlled delivery of a half gram of LSD June 1st. The document says Vanderveen was observed retrieving the envelope, leading authorities through a tip from a man at the couple's residence, to another home where marijuana, hashish, LSD and other drugs were located. Both are scheduled to appear for preliminary hearings June 13th.
