Report: Moreno admits affair
Scottsbluff Police Chief Alex Moreno has admitted in federal documents that he did have an affair with the woman who has sued him and the city of Scottsbluff.
The Star-Herald is reporting today Moreno makes the admission about the one month relationship in a response to the federal suit filed by Tamara Villanueva, who says she and Moreno had a relationship after she sought Police help with a domestic situation and that the chief harassed her when the relationship ended.
Villanueva, a contact person for a neighborhood watch program, also claims the police department ignored her subsequent reports of domestic abuse and harassment reports, resulting in the court denying her request for a protection order against Moreno.
The newspaper report says Moreno in the response denies harassing Villanueva but does admit he e-mailed Villanueva to arrange sex with her. Moreno also denies being aware or taking advantage of her emotional state of mind as a domestic abuse victim when he engaged in a sexual relationship with her and denies being aware of additional abuse allegations.
