First steps ready to be taken on pathway project

Roughly $3.2 million dollars in Federal grant funding has been secured for the City of Scottsbluff's proposed pathway project, which will stretch from the Riverside Park to the Lander Soccer Complex, and will include 4 1/2 to 5 miles of pathway, with a pedestrian overpass crossing Highway 26.

Parks and Recreation Director Perry Mader says the project will really allow easy pedestrian connectivity to a variety of areas.

The City will provide around $600,000 in matching funds for the project. Mader says not to expect to see much action right away, as securing the funding will just now allow them to move forward with selecting an engineer for the project and start making specific plans.
