Bluffs Police arrest father-son burglary team
A Scottsbluff man has been charged with assisting his son in the burglary this past Monday of a Scottsbluff apartment.
50 year old Robert Magdaleno is charged with providing the vehicle used to load $1,400 in electronics stolen by his 22 year old son Anthony Godina. Court documents also say Magdaleno allowed Godina to use the car to dispose of the stolen items.
Police traced Godina to the burglary through a cell phone that he left at the apartment that had calls to his mother and father. Police say a resident in the E. 26th Street apartment complex contacted them and indicated she was an eyewitness to the entire burglary that she said was conducted by Godina. The documents also say she observed a car she knew as Magdeleno's drive up and be used to load the stolen items, which including a flat screen TV, a gaming system, accessories, video games and DVD's.
Police were able to locate most of the stolen items in a ditch in the rural area after interviewing the suspects.
Both men had their first court appearances. Godina is being held on a $25,000 bond for a burglary charge and Magdaleno is being held on $10,000 bond for a charge of aiding in the burglary. Godina will have a preliminary hearing on October 12th. Magdaleno's October 5th.
