Scottsbluff man convicted of child sexual assault
A 54-year-old Scottsbluff man will be sentenced September 20th after he was found guilty Monday of third degree sexual assault. Daniel Castillo was convicted by a Scotts Bluff County District Court jury of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl at his home April 13th even though he told Police it was an accident.
The girl told her mother that she awoke to Castillo doing a sexual act. The mother then contacted authorities.
Castillo told police he was sleeping in the same bed as the girl and committed the act while dreaming.
