3 arrested for drugs and weapons following hit and run accident
Scottsbluff Police arrested three people for drug and weapons violations after responding to a reported hit and run accident Tuesday evening.
Police say while responding to the accident in the 1500 block of 10th Avenue they observed a car a few blocks away matching the description of the one witnesses said left the accident scene.
When officer Matt Broderick attempted to contact the driver he heard an object being thrown from the vehicle that was discovered later to be a firearm.
Officers stopped the vehicle in the 700 block of E. Overland and after a search of the car recovered suspected marijuana, suspected drug paraphernalia and ammunition.
17 year old Omar Garcia was arrested for possession of marijuana, no operator's license and minor in possession. 22 year old Jaime Carlos was arrested for carrying a concealed weapons and 20 year old Jose Garcia was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance and being a minor in possession of alcohol
