Council to decide how to sell ALS metal building

The Scottsbluff city council Tuesday night will consider the approach they want to take in selling the metal building on the east side of the Aurora Loan Services property. The building has been considered as the home for a District 12 Probation Reporting Center, but the county has indicated it doesn't have the money to purchase the building.

City Manager Rick Kuckkahn says he will suggest the council set a minimum $400,000 price for the building and then take sealed offers plus a description of what they intend to use the building for and the number of employees, benefits and salaries they are planning to provide.

Kuckkahn says the city would prefer to have a private business that would pay taxes in the building, but could possibly look at a public-private partnership to fill the large facility.
