Larry E. Plummer, 75, Terrytown
Larry E. Plummer, 75, of Terrytown, died Friday (December 14, 2012) at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A memorial funeral service will be held Wednesday (December 19, 2012) at 11:00 a.m. at the WestWay Christian Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Willie Coop officiating. A private family inurnment will precede the funeral at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Military rites will be given by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Larry was born August 5, 1937 in Bridgeport to Earl O. and Nellie M. (Riddle) Plummer. He married Phyllis Bartow-Krause on December 23, 1975 at Gering. Larry earned an Associate in Arts degree from Nebraska Western College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Platte Valley Bible College, both in Scottsbluff. He worked as a truck driver and as a dispatcher for the Great Western Sugar Factory. Larry served his country with the United States Air Force from 1954 until 1956. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Larry was a faith believing Christian having served as an elder at WestWay Christian Church. He was also a member of the Scottsbluff Elks Lodge #1367, and was a present member of the City of Terrytown Council, which he had served on since January 3, 2003. His hobbies included knife collecting, gardening, motorcycles, collecting eagles, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis of Gering; one daughter Pamela of Arvada, Colorado; one step-daughter Patricia of Guernsey, Wyoming; sister and brother-in-law Jan and Tom Donwen of Tulare, California; half sister Sue Justis of Kalispell, Montana; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Royce Plummer.
