Project Extra Mile to lose local director

During a regular meeting of the Scotts Bluff County Project Extra Mile Coalition Tuesday afternoon, Cassie Greisen, Associate Director of Project Extra Mile in Omaha announced that due to Federal cutbacks, the local Executive Director position held by Lanette Richards will be eliminated as of September 30th.

Coalition Board Chair Joan Fisher told those in attendance that it will be a difficult blow to deal with. Fisher said the local chapter could not have made the advances it has without Richard's leadership

Even during the meeting, Coalition members started brainstorming on ways to possibly fund the position locally. Greisen told the group that this was the situation "for now", and that their agency in Omaha is shopping around for different grants that could possibly fund the position.
