Theodore A. "Ted" Walton, 81, Scottsbluff

Theodore A. "Ted" Walton, 81 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Golden Living Center.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff with military rites by F.E. Warren Air Force Honor Guard. Cremation has taken place. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com. Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ted was born on January 24, 1932 at Cambridge, NE to Theodore J. and Lavina E. (Stitzel) Walton. He was raise and received his education in Wilsonville, NE graduating with the Class of 1949.

He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict. For three years, he was stationed in southern West Germany with an aircraft control and warning squadron. He received an honorable discharge in 1956 with the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He returned to North Platte and became involved in the glass business and where he met and married his wife Evelyn. The family moved to Scottsbluff in 1963, when he became manager of the Harding Glass Co in Gering, taking an early retirement in 1980.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Charlene and Thomas Braddock of Scottsbluff; granddaughters Amy J. and Brian Fenimore of Cheyenne, WY; Cheryl and Tom Watson of Estacada, Oregon, Joellen and David Benavidez of Scottsbluff and Kerrie and Grady Thomas of Severn, MD and six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evelyn, five brothers and one sister and one great grandson.
