Wallien resigns from WNCC Foundation position

The Executive Director of the Western Nebraska Community College Foundation has submitted her resignation, effective October 31st. The college board will formally accept the resignation Wednesday.

Dayle Wallien, who has been in the position for over four years, says she is moving to Seattle to be closer to family and to take a position as Pacific Northwest development Director for the National Forest Foundation.

During her time with the Foundation, Wallien established the annual Fall Frolic alumni and homecoming celebration which will take place this weekend. The Frolic, with Valley Bank as its title sponsor this year for the second straight year, raised $15,000 for scholarship needy students in 2012.

Wallien also began the Platte Valley Companies Monument Marathon, the largest fundraiser for the Foundation. The Monument Marathon, in only its second year, raised approximately $65,000 for the Foundation last month, and has quickly attracted runners from throughout the country.

Wallien says she still plans to be involved in both events even though she is making the move to Washington.
