Sidney Police Chief resigns
Sidney Police Chief Mike Brown is moving back to Kansas to care for ailing family members.
KSID Radio reports Brown's resignation came at Tuesday night's City Council meeting and his last day on the job is February 28. Brown said they have family members, including his father and his wife's aunt, who are battling cancer and they need to be back in Kansas to provide support.
Sidney City Manager Gary Person says the city will begin the lengthy process to hire a new chief.
